What the Sour? Top 10 Sours This Month!

Last month we announced that we've partnered with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery as part of our 10th Anniversary Celebration to develop a crowd-sourced beer recipe that anyone can brew! To pick the style of the beer, we dug into our own vault of data over the last 10 years. In that search we found that sours had the highest increase in check-ins year over year (163%), a consistent average rating of 3.9 or above, and an average sentiment score of 72% positive among users who had left a review for beer of that style. I would've never guessed that the data would show this, so I decided to take a look at the top trending sours in the last 30 days on Untappd. What are you sour fans drinking out there right now?
So without further ado, here is the top 10 list!
10. SeaQuench Ale by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
Named one of the best low-cal sour ales, this little but mighty kettle sour packs some serious fruit flavor. It is a tart Berliner Weiss brewed in sequence with black limes, sour lime juice and sea salt to make this the most thirst-slaying beer Dogfish Head has ever brewed!
9. Tropisch Und Sauer by Ängöl
This sour, a Fruited Berliner Weisse, comes from a brewery from Sweden. Notes of Pineapple, Mango and Apricot make up this fruity sour blend. Tons of check-ins are saying positive things, including that it's a good mix of a wheat beer and sour fruity blend!

8. Rodenbach Grand Cru by Brouwerij Rodenbach
This is an aged Belgian red ale, which according to the label was "ripened quietly in oak barrels for two years". A traditional Belgian style Flanders Red Ale, it's definitely a fan favorite with over a quarter-million check-ins!

Fin färg, lätt syra, rejäl smak av körsbär, fylliga smaker, riktigt bra! Glad att jag köpte 6st!

7. Duchesse de Bourgogne by Brouwerij Verhaeghe
Another Flanders Red Ale in the list! Made in Vichte, Belgium, this refreshing ale is matured in oak casks; smooth with a rich texture and interplay of passion fruit, and chocolate, and a long, dry acidic finish.

1. Sour Me Unicorn Farts by DuClaw Brewing Company
This is a very interesting beer with a wild name. Out of Baltimore, MD, DuClaw is turning heads with the number one sour this month! This glittered sour ale with fruity cereal mashed in, brings slightly tart sour, a bouquet of fruits & a hint of biscuit. It's a collaboration between DuClaw and a local Donut Shop, Diablo Doughnuts!
