More than the name of your pet rock, Brett actually stands for Brettanomyces, a type of yeast that can be used to ferment beer. What sets these beers apart is that distinctive Brett strain. Like your crazy aunt, known for being just a little kooky and wild, Brett adds a bit of funk to its beers. Some well-known examples of beers with Brett include Nightmare on Brett from Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project and Consecration from Russian River Brewing Co.
