Despite the ridiculous hop rates, this Double IPA manages to find balance, thanks to the soft, creamy mouthfeel and smooth finish contributed by the complex blend of malt, oats, and wheat. With notes of tangerine, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, peach, and grapefruit, WWJB is bursting with so much fruit juice character that it makes you question whether or not actual fruit was added, but there is just enough bitterness to remind you that it’s still a IPA. Our flagship IPA double dry hopped with Citra, Mosaic & El Dorado Hops

DDH Juicy Bits opens with hints of pineapple, tangerine, apricot, and papaya on the nose, following with notes of orange juice, peach, passion fruit and grapefruit in the taste. This intensely dry hopped version of our flagship New England-style IPA was crafted to showcase the complex fruit character contributed by nearly 7 lbs per barrel of Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado hops. The finish is soft and rounded, with just enough bitterness to balance the fruit juice character. Only available a few times a year, so enjoy it while you can! Read Less

Double India Pale Ale brewed with Sabro, Lotus + Citra Hops.

By now you're probably aware that we're pretty smitten with Advanced Fluid Dynamics. But never ones to be satisfied, we thought we'd take this series to the next level by completely re-tooling the base recipe and refreshing the branding while also upping the ante with new, fruited variations.

Since its debut, AFD has thrived off of contrasting yet complementary flavor profiles. Starting with the orange creamsicle and vanilla notes from the Lotus, we added Sabro to bring in some more tropical notes, specifically coconut, and our latest revision for 2021 introduces Citra to the blend to bring in the familiar citrus flavors, specifically tangerine and grapefruit, which stands as somewhat of a grounding familiarity with the two even more contemporary varietals. Chewy and creamy with tons of chocolate malt, huge additions of maple syrup, and enough coffee to balance, Coffee Maple Achromatic is our quintessential breakfast beer. We boil for more than 6 hours to achieve the unbelievably rich, chewy, thick mouthfeel of the base beer. We take the decadence to the next level with multiple maple syrup additions throughout the process, which are a perfect complement to the huge addition of barrel-aged Peruvian coffee from our friends at Zoe's Cafe, which was aged for several weeks in a spent Medianoche bourbon barrel before roasting. Decidedly sweet, yet surprisingly drinkable, French Toast Stout opens with a huge burst of maple syrup, lending way to caramel malt sweetness, a hint of bittersweet chocolate and coffee from the roasted malts, subtle, yet rich cinnamon spice from the Vietnamese cinnamon sticks, and just a hint of vanilla in the finish to round it all out. We got our hands on even more Galaxy hops to use with Juicy Bits, our popular New England-style IPA featuring a huge citrus and tropical fruit hop character with a softer, smoother mouthfeel from the adjusted water chemistry, higher protein malts, and lower attenuation. For this Galaxy DDH variant of Juicy Bits, we dry hopped with nearly 4 lbs per bbl of Galaxy hops, in addition to the normal dry hop schedule of Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado, bringing the total hop rate up to over 7 lbs per barrel. We also extended the dry hop a touch longer and attenuated the beer a bit further, resulting in an incredibly bright hop character, soft, pillowy mouthfeel, with very little malt sweetness so that the focus is squarely on the incredible hop character. We start with a traditional German Hefeweizen recipe, using 50% wheat malt and 50% Pilsner malt. Without being too irreverent to the original style, we add our own creative spin, with a sizeable whirlpool hop addition and the use of a Bavarian yeast strain, which contributes the classic Hefeweizen banana character, but with a restrained spicy phenolic character, keeping the beer approachable while maintaining the complexity of a well-crafted wheat beer. The third iteration in our DDH Juicy Bits series features Mosaic hops, which have become an irreplaceable staple in our brewhouse. Our 2017 harvest-year selected lot of Mosaic features notes of ripe pineapple, mango and even a hint of lime, and it is showcased beautifully in Mosaic DDH Juicy Bits thanks to the more than 4 lbs/bbl of Mosaic added to the dry hop, which combined with the normal hop schedule of Citra, Mosaic & El Dorado, brings the total hop rate to over 8 lbs/bbl! 3.8 Miles opens with bright notes of ripe mango, fresh lemon zest, juicy pineapple, and candied apricot, followed by a subtle resiny dankness to balance. For this follow up to 38 Blocks, we kept the base beer mostly the same, but started with a brand new hop bill consisting of nearly 8 lbs of Mosaic, El Dorado and Lemondrop hops per barrel. The slightly higher attenuation allows the soft, creamy mouthfeel to hold up to the incredibly bold hop character without finishing too sweet. Despite the assertive hop character, 3.8 Miles maintains excellent drinkability as a result of the lower bitterness achieved from adding all the hops in the whirlpool and dry hop. Read Less
