This super fruity IPA was brewed for the return leg of our collaboration with the lovely people at Verdant. Ella, Citra and Sabro combine for flavours of bergamot, grapefruit and orange, all amplified by a gentle juicy acidity.

To produce this 6.5% IPA, we naturally acidified a portion of wort using lactic acid bacteria, which was added to the kettle to lower the pH pre fermentation. The increased acidity doesn’t sour; instead, it allows the hops to remain bright, lively and juicy at such high hopping rates. We’re really happy with the results. It’s so smooth and creamy with flavours reminiscent of white grape, tangerine and orange with a gentle coconut finish. Read Less

Of all the rebrew requests we get, TRUMBO is responsible for the lion’s share. It’s surprising because with a relatively clean malt profile and characteristics usually associated with classic West Coast beers, this isn’t a DIPA that ticks the usual hype boxes – proof, in case it was needed, that there is demand out there for more classic flavour profiles.
For the latest batch of this 8% beer (which we only brew once a year in Autumn) we’ve upped the quantity of hops and altered our dry hopping schedule a little, with huge additions of Amarillo, Mosaic and Simcoe. The result is a bumbling behemoth of a beer with chewy, biscuity body and jammy, overripe flavours of melon, blueberry, mango and orange marmalade. Blink and you’ll miss it.
