Leftover from prev night, so a touch flat but wonderful flavours. Everything you'd want from a BA barleywine. Measured toffee and dark fruit sweetness allows vanilla and leathery notes to be perceived. Bit of warmth and a unique spice note. Quite thick.

Rory Martin is drinking a Total Blam Blam! by Root + Branch Brewing
From the other night. Great Nectaron expression - possibly the best I've tasted. Very clear and prominent ripe peach/nectarine flavour. Was pretty easy drinking with perhaps a little less bitterness/intensity on the finish than I'd like. Very good overall

Rory Martin is drinking a Golden-Crowned (2023) by Floodland Brewing
Great bright fruit expression. Easy drinking and relatively low acidity. Classic Floodland in that sense. Initially seemed simple but has a nice tannic finish and honey notes emerging as it warmed. A little more funk would have suited this well though.

Rory Martin is drinking a Barrel Aged Cuppa Neat Stagg Jr. by Maplewood Brewing Company
This was absolutely delightful. Thick and chocolatey, with an excellent sense of the bourbon - wood, spice, caramel. Huge barrel flavour yet super smooth. Very little heat on the tail. Easily the best Maplewood I've tried so far.
Classic Monkish, pithy citrus forward. Nice bright flavour especially being a little older than I'd usually drink them. Often impressed with the longevity of Monkish cans.
